Croston Park Achieves Prestigious Gold Standards Framework Accreditation

We are incredibly proud to announce that Croston Park has successfully achieved the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation – a prestigious national recognition that celebrates excellence in end-of-life care.

This is a tremendous achievement, reflecting the hard work, dedication, and compassion of our entire team. Gaining the GSF is no small feat; it involves an in-depth assessment and the development of a comprehensive portfolio, alongside demonstrating how high standards of care are consistently put into practice on a daily basis.

What Is the Gold Standards Framework?

The Gold Standards Framework is the UK’s leading training and accreditation programme for care providers aiming to deliver exceptional care for people nearing the end of life. It promotes a proactive, person-centred approach that ensures dignity, comfort, and quality of life during a resident's later years.

Passing the GSF means a care home has embedded best practices in advance care planning, symptom management, communication, and compassionate support—both for residents and their families.

What This Means for Our Residents

For the residents at Croston Park, this accreditation is more than a certificate—it's a commitment. It means that:

  • Residents’ wishes are listened to and respected, with personalised care plans that reflect their values, beliefs, and goals.

  • There is a strong emphasis on emotional and spiritual wellbeing, as well as physical health.

  • Our staff are specially trained to recognise changes in health early, allowing for timely intervention and support.

  • Families are involved, informed, and supported every step of the way.

  • Care is seamless and coordinated, whether it’s provided in the home or alongside healthcare professionals in the community.

Ultimately, the GSF allows residents to live well until the end, in comfort, with dignity, and surrounded by a caring and informed team.

A Team Effort

Achieving the Gold Standards Framework is a testament to the commitment, teamwork, and professional excellence of everyone at Croston Park. From nursing and care staff to kitchen, housekeeping, and administrative teams—everyone has played a vital role in embedding these high standards into the heart of our home.

“This has been a huge undertaking,” said Abi Kershaw, Home Manager. “The portfolio alone required a significant amount of time and detail, but the most important part was making sure the principles of the framework were not just on paper, but truly lived out in our day-to-day care.”

Looking Ahead

Passing the GSF is not the end of the journey—it’s a benchmark we are proud to uphold and continuously improve upon. We will keep building on this strong foundation to ensure that Croston Park remains a place where residents are supported to live with meaning, dignity, and comfort, right through the later stages of life.

We thank our incredible staff, residents, families, and community partners for helping us achieve this milestone. Together, we are setting a new standard for compassionate care.
